Sometimes we get tired of the custom weather, traditional vanilla mobs, and weapons. Addon The Variants saves the day and brings a lot to explore and face.
Features of addon The Variants
We will start with the most impressive feature of this addon: the weather system. Even if it lasts for just a few minutes, and affects only the Nether, we bet you will be surprised by a new kind of rain: blood rain.
The addon also introduces new useful items and blocks. These are:
- Mud balls that can be obtained from muddy grass and can be used in crafting mud blocks.
- Knuckles of wood, stone, iron, gold, and diamond, all of them having the same attack damage, that is one but having different durability level. Naturally, the diamond ones are the strongest. The knuckles can be used for knocking back any entities.
- Hatchets have the same purpose as the knuckles and the materials are the same, but the durability and damage attack is different.
- Wither bows are not very functional, but if the player has a wither effect and sneaks, he/she will be able to fire it.
- Mud blocks made from mud balls (see description above). Any entity walking on top of such blocks will slow down.
- Muddy grass is a transformation of custom grass when a sludger explodes on it. It also has the ability to slow the movement of the entities walking on top of it.
- Withering grass which withers all the entities that are on top of it.
Addon The Variants also brings a lot of new mobs, and each of them has different variants in size and pose. For example, there are crawling, halved and rushing husks.
New mobs:
- Illagers (beast master and slayer)
- Creepers (sludgers, blast creeper, nether creeper, creepork, zombie creepork, and creeper skeleton)
- Villagers (spearman villager, brawler villager, knight villager, and berserker villager)
- Coyotes
- Whirlers
- Banished Wither skeletons
